Arlewood Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
It’s been our philosophy to use only the Arlewood ‘A’ Block Wilyabrup Vineyard from which to source the fruit for this wine. It spends 24 months in the finest tightly grained French oak barriques we can get our mits on, and a further 24 months in bottle for all the elements to integrate prior to release; this is the Arlewood Cabernet programme. Arlewood Cabernet Sauvignon is dense and concentrated. Don’t hesitate to breathe this wine; it opens up beautifully with air, revealing dark fruits, mocha and chocolate, classy oak and delicious soy/savoury flavours with an intriguing mineral depth. It’s also elegant and restrained, very long and savoury on the palate. It’s pretty much the style we are hunting. It closes with trademark silky texture and nice acid structure. Drink now or cellar for up to 2030. Varieties: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Maturation: 2 years in 50% new selected French oak barriques, 50% second use French barriques. Production: 494 dozen only.
